European Tow Show - News Update - 1st January 2008
A new year, a new beginning another Tow Show to get organised. Well to be fair to the team it has not really stopped for them slowed down perhaps for a few months now it is time to pick up the pace.
Last autumn we mentioned that we would seek a partner to assist with the growing administration and PR requirements of the Tow Show, I am happy to inform you that RHA admin/PR/team have now been appointed to full fill that role. The team will be headed up by a lady called Jan Mills, Roy and I will be developing our roles as the run up to the 2008 event progresses.
Our IT infrastructure is now under going some improvements, one of these will be direct on line payment by credit card. We were asked a curious question recently; can I buy anything directly as the show? The answer has to be a resounding yes, it is the biggest bring and buy event in our industry, so much so that several of the ancillary equipment informed us that on the Thursday evening on the first day of the show that most of them had exceeded or reached their sales targets for the whole event, not bad for one days trading!
Support for the Tow Show continues to grow, I am happy to announce two new platinum sponsors for 2008, the Automobile Association have confirmed that they will be supporting the event as a platinum sponsor, Global Live who were a gold sponsor last year have also upgraded to a Platinum sponsor, they will be joining our other confirmed platinum sponsor Kaupthing formerly Singer and Friedlander commercial finance following have confirmed that they will be returning as Platinum Sponsors this year.
The following have confirmed that they will be again supporting the event as gold sponsors, RHA RRG, Mondial Assistance, RAC, Britannia Rescue, Green Flag, and Ernest R Shaw insurance and last but not least Professional Recovery magazine. We are very grateful to all of these companies for their generous and welcome support.
The first week of January traditionally is the time in which we commence selling exhibition space. The first sales have been completed with returning exhibitors Partnership Publishing and Intertrade engineering doubling the size of their stands.
Confirmation has been received from two of the larger exhibitors, Boniface and Dyson, their plans for attending Tow Show 2008 are now well under way. Also on board now are Ceejays, ON Time automotive, Global Live, Professional Recovery, Dave Bland engineering, T&C Services, KFS. Truk UK, JJ conversions SC inflatables from Holland will also be making a return visit. AA, Britannia Rescue, Green Flag, Mondial, RAC will also be attending. 2008 will also see the attendance of a new exhibitor from the USA, Copart Auto Auctions who will be making their first appearance
On a daily basis we currently make contact with potential new exhibitors, one of these is Tom Tom who are currently showing a lot of interest with a view to attending. On the business side the new RHA team are currently formulating a plan for the business seminar. This will explore a number of issues relevant to the rescue and recovery industry including the latest safe practises and working with the Highways Agency.
We are happy to report that sales are now well ahead of projections which is a very healthy indicator for the show.
We looking forward to welcoming exhibitors, visitors and the general public to the number one UK Rescue and Recovery Event.
Regards,
The European Towshow 2008 Team
